friends around the Bay... This friendly occasion has really put the cycle tracks and the existing circuits of the Somme Bay in the limelight. Thanks to the Somme Bay railway line, some did the return journey by train; many were delighted to discover the inland countryside.

Bicycle hire was “very busy” and the route stewards of the CODEP were noted for their kindness! This was a first edition, which may well be repeated, proof that activities that combine nature and outings are currently one of the major avenues for tourism development in the Somme Bay.

Roses of Picardy, from the song to the flower,

Rose of Picardy®”.
On the 25 June 2005, the last born of the roses at the Valloires Gardens
invited the Abbeville Children’s Choir, with the soloist François Joron (who had so moved the Duchess of Gloucester in 2004), and the New Orleans Jazz Band “Les Barbecues” just to celebrate its first birthday in music and to launch the CD “Roses of Picardy” properly. Edited by the Valloires Gardens, it comprises 5 separate interpretations* of the song, highlighting the diversity of French, English and American styles and the adaptations that it has inspired.

Through the Cap Hornu reservations department, we have set up the first seminars in the Marquenterre Ornithological Park. Whether they be pharmaceutical laboratories, public or semi-private companies, the Park accommodates a diversified clientele. Returns are positive... working, unwinding, relaxation are the three strong points on offer at the site; the three available rooms (seating up to 80), large lunch tables, breaks and complimentary visits of the park are services that make a difference. This is a tourism activity development which looks promising.
Revisited information panels
To complete the project started by Gilles Clément in 2003, new information panels have been added to the Lamarck garden in order to explain the great evolution mechanisms in plants and animals... One game encourages children to name plants in Latin, without botanical knowledge.
Welcoming and direction panels are
