Destination Somme Estuary,
quality objectives
Cap Hornu Restaurant-Hotel
14 rooms have just been fully renovated and 2 group accommodation facilities have been converted into 5 bedrooms. This expansion corresponds to a strong demand for accommodation for both individuals and groups or seminars.  This was undertaken with a cosy image in mind combined with the wish to achieve high quality and comfort.
This is the first step of a conversion project for the site which will eventually have 100 bedrooms and a new capability for

The Amitié Cup
On 28th March, the Amitié Cup closed the winter season by bringing together the members of the other 4 golf clubs of the region: Abbeville, Nampont, Amiens and Salouël. A special winter fee, 1st November 2004 to 31st March 2005, allowed players from Abbeville and Nampont Golf clubs to discover the Belle Dune course. A special “entitlement to play” offer was made available to all.

ŭInvitations en Picardieŭ Exhibition
The Somme Estuary presented to the Picardy population
It was with this idea and as a reminder of the places and personalities of the bay that the Somme Estuary was represented on 19th and 20th March. Visitors were able to “come into contact” with famous Picardy personalities such as Jean-Baptiste Lamarck, Jules Verne and also Robert Mallet, they were also able to get closer to the world of birds, discover cycle tracks, fly over the Somme Estuary with the film “contre vents et marées” (against wind and tides),… enough to awaken their curiosity and make them want to come to the Estuary.
Facilities at the Marquenterre Ornithological Park and at the Maison de l’Oiseau are really focused on teaching and learning about the environment. In addition to the exhibition and conference rooms, attention is now turning towards identification boards. They have been designed to respond to the needs of the French and European public with special attention to their aesthetic blending with the environment.
• Historical boards tell the story of the Marquenterre creation from 1952 to the present day.
• Bird identification boards help visitors identify 50 species living in the Somme Estuary. Some of these will be changed according to the season and changes in bird plumage…
Others will carry information relating to ringing, migration and moulting…

reception area and the shop (professionals’ shop):  it is now spacious and pleasant and has a fitting room for trying on clothes, which was previously lacking.
In order to emphasise the conviviality of the premises, the cosy atmosphere of the Restaurant du Lac has been improved: coloured fitted carpet,
large tables and installation of a cooking range where soup is continuously simmering… like at the Valloire Gardens or the Marquenterre Ornithological Park.
