Coastal Picardy is a European tourist destination

Year after year Coastal Picardy proves its vocation as a European touristdestination. This ambition has been known as early as 1989 when the SMACOPIcame into being. This unique preserved territory, criss-crossed with facilitiesthat correspond to what Northern European visitors require, continues toattract : British, Belgian and now Dutch patrons. Numbers of the latterdoubled between 1995 and 1996. Investments by all the community and touristspecialists concerned are now bearing their fruits. In a difficult economicenvironment we can only rejoice, but we will still have to prove our capacityto adapt, renew ourselves and diversify. Several possibilities are opento us, nonetheless preservation of natural habitats will have to remainthe prime goal
